In honor of Mother’s Day, I wrote this piece I’m really proud of about a family cookbook that survived three continents and two World Wars. Hope you enjoy.
Pickle Pantry Essential #7: The Art of Simple Food by Alice Waters
Everyone needs their cooking bible, and for me, Alice Waters’ The Art of Simple Food is just that. It covers the basics in a very approachable way and has inspiring and easy recipes. I especially like that many of the recipes have very few ingredients and emphasize seasonality. I use the book constantly, from figuring out vinaigrette ratios (I know…) to using the easiest cake recipe (1-2-3-4 cake) featured in my Easter party post.
